Kate Slater
Kate has been running successful PR campaigns for the last six years, after working as a BBC radio producer, TV journalist and features writer on a variety of different programmes and publications. Highlights of her media career included working as a problem page auntie on a national teenage magazine aged 22 (and simultaneously writing the beauty pages and features pages under different names, including a man's), appearing on the cover of Jackie, producing current affairs features for TV news and producing live, three hour weekday radio shows for the BBC in Newcastle.
Kate is very enthusiastic about the benefits of strategic PR to any business and enjoys working out effective strategies and seeing them bring rewards to clients. She is a Chartered Institute of Public Relations Pride Awards finalist 2009 for her PR campaign for www.doxfordcottages.co.uk 'Everybody needs a little time away' which generated £300,000 worth of business from a £10,000 campaign and she also has the top CIPR Diploma qualification in Public Relations.
Kate is mother to two feisty grown up daughters and guardian of gigantic ginger cat, Mr Stanley, who creates a pleasant purring ambience in the busy PR office.
