Tony has had a long career combining public relations, media communications and environment/animal work.
Having worked for a number of high profile animal welfare organisations he has had first hand experience of creating and dealing with media interest ranging from weekly local papers to global TV stations.
Tony orginally spent ten years working as an Inspector for the RSPCA in East Anglia and the South West. Over and above his regular duties he developed a talent for spotting good stories and securing media interest, as well as coming up with a good 'soundbite' when the media needed a quick response. He has lead the response to many major, breaking and fast moving stories including the 2001 foot and mouth epidemic and the famous Thames Whale rescue attempt in 2006.
Tony's talents drew him further into media work and he became adept at writing press releases, briefing documents, arranging and organising photocalls and press conferences, web editing, image/video editing and production and online media opportunities. He has arranged filming for television documentaries and series and is also experienced in engaging with and securing the services of celebrities for PR opportunities.
Now specialising in small charity PR, particularly within the animal welfare and environment sectors, Tony brings an unrivalled wealth of experience to Cake clients.
