Jo Cunningham

Jo Cunningham Cake consultant Jo Cunningham has been a journalist for 15 years and has spent eight years working in public relations.

As a trained journalist who still writes regularly, Jo has a finely honed ability to spot a story and know just what the media is looking for.

Jo qualified from the National Council for the Training of Journalists course in Cardiff and spent seven years working for a busy eight edition daily paper.

Here Jo developed her accurate and speedy writing skills and the ability to relate to people at all levels before moving on to become the first ever RSPCA regional press officer for seven counties in central England.

In this role, Jo led both national and regional press campaigns. One campaign that she devised and project managed, concerning the danger of litter to animals, became one of the charity's most successful annual campaigns of 2000 and 2001.

Jo has experience in planning and co-ordinating media strategies, regional and national campaigns, writing press releases, briefings and newsletters, organising press conferences and photocalls and acting as spokesperson for radio/TV interviews.

She is also trained in crisis and campaign management, can host media training and is skilled at editing and rewriting briefings and publicity material to target markets.

Jo's friendly and efficient manner ensures that she can help organisations get the most out of the media. She specialises in working with charity and small organisations that are looking for great returns for a small budget!
